BRIEF: Sheriff's police pull man from burning car on I-80

Aug. 05--Two Cook County sheriff's police officers pulled a man from a burning car that crashed early Wednesday on Interstate 80 near Hazel Crest, authorities said.

The car crashed into a guard rail near the junction with Interstate 57 just before 2 a.m., state police said. The car started burning after coming to a stop on the shoulder, they said.

The two sheriff's officers pulled the driver out and he was taken to Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest with minor injuries, state police said. No one else was in the car.
