July 26--A Metra train fatally hit a person Saturday night in the Old Irving Park neighborhood.
The last inbound Milwaukee District North train of the evening struck the person around 11:40 p.m. less than a half-mile north of the Grayland Metra station on the Northwest Side, said spokesman Michael Gillis.
Train 2622, which was due downtown at 11:58 p.m., was delayed about an hour and a half, Gillis said.
Gillis did not have more information about the incident.
The Cook County medical examiner's office has not yet identified the person.
