BRIEF: Person dies after hit by Blue Line train on Northwest Side

April 18--CTA Blue Line service has resumed after being suspended earlier because of a person being struck and killed by a train near the Belmont station.

Service was suspended between the Jefferson Park and Western/Milwaukee stops after someone jumped onto the tracks at 3355 W. Belmont Ave. just before 7 a.m. The incident appears to be a suicide, police said. The person was pronounced dead on the scene.

Information was not immediately available about the person's age or gender.
