BRIEF: Person arrested walking on Loop 'L' tracks

Nov. 03--A person was arrested walking on the Loop "L" tracks this afternoon, after the CTA had to cut off power so police could catch him.

The person was arrested about 2:40 p.m., according to a CTA spokeswoman.

The person was arrested near Jackson Street and Wabash Avenue.

The CTA had to turn off power on the Loop "L" for a time, delaying trains running on the Loop, according to the CTA's Twitter feed.

The man was believed to have trespassed on the Loop more than once Sunday.

Police News Affairs was notified of a person on the tracks near Adams Street on the Pink Line just before 1 p.m. The person was removed from the tracks and taken into custody at that time also, police said.

There was no word Sunday evening on whether the man was expected to be charged.
