BRIEF: Pedestrian struck by freight train near Chicago Ridge, officials say

May 25--A pedestrian was struck by a freight train Wednesday morning near Chicago Ridge, Metra officials said.

The condition of the pedestrian and exact location of the incident were not known.

According to a Metra spokesman, the incident has impacted an inbound and an outbound train on the agency's Southwest Service line. Passengers on those trains were being bused between Chicago Ridge and Oak Lawn and being placed back on trains.

Fire and police officials were not available for comment.
