BRIEF: Pedestrian killed on 105 Freeway in South L.A. struck by multiple vehicles

Nov. 29--Authorities are searching for the drivers of at least two vehicles who fled after hitting a man on the 105 Freeway in South Los Angeles early Saturday.

A man was walking on the westbound freeway east of Vermont Avenue when he was struck by multiple vehicles about 5:30 a.m., said California Highway Patrol Officer Jennifer Cassidy.

Cassidy said officers do not know what types of vehicles were involved or why the man was on the freeway. Authorities are still trying to determine the victim's identity, she said.

A SigAlert was issued just before 6 a.m., and four westbound lanes of the freeway were closed, Cassidy said. The road was clear by 9:01 a.m., she said.

The incident remains under investigation, Cassidy said.
