BRIEF: Man fatally struck by car on Eisenhower

Oct. 03--A 40-year-old man was fatally struck by a car after he jumped onto the Eisenhower Expressway about 4 a.m. Saturday, officials said.

He was near Central Park Avenue when he jumped onto Interstate 290, said Cmdr. Curtis Hudson of the Chicago Fire Department. The man was hit by a car and died at the scene.

The driver of the car that struck him was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, Hudson said.

Westbound lanes of the Eisenhower were closed near Damen Avenue about 5:30 a.m., according to the Illinois State Police.
