BRIEF: Pedestrian hit by Metra train in Glencoe

March 03--A pedestrian was hit by a Metra train Wednesday evening near the Glencoe station on the Union Pacific-North Line, according to the rail agency.

Trains were halted about 5:35 p.m. after Chicago-bound Train No. 350 hit a pedestrian, according to Metra Spokesman Tom Miller.

The person, whose age and gender were not immediately available, survived and was taken to Evanston Hospital in an unknown condition, said Miler.

Outbound trains began moving again at 6:50 p.m., Miller said.
