BRIEF: Pedestrian hit by car, critically injured downtown

Dec. 27--A pedestrian was critically injured after being hit by a car downtown early Sunday morning, a Chicago Fire Department official confirmed.

At about 12:30 a.m., the pedestrian was hit by a car in the 300 block of East Wacker Drive and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition, according to Chicago Fire Department Cmdr. Walter Schroeder.

Information was not immediately available about the age and gender of the pedestrian.
