March 02--A pedestrian has died after she was hit by a vehicle in the Avalon Park neighborhood Tuesday night, police said.
At about 8:15 p.m., a 46-year-old man was driving a Chevrolet Monte Carlo south on Stony Island Avenue past 81st Street when he hit a 45-year-old woman who was in the middle of the right lane, police said.
The woman was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center and pronounced dead. The driver has been issued citations.
