March 12--A 37-year-old woman died after being hit by a vehicle Friday evening in Gary in northwest Indiana, officials said.
Amy Tucker was walking in the 6100 block of Melton Road when a vehicle struck her about 5:30 p.m., according to the Lake County coroner's office and Gary Police Department.
Tucker, of the 6700 block of Mercedes Avenue in Portage, suffered blunt force trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:01 p.m., according to the coroner's office.
No other information was immediately available about the crash.
