BRIEF: Patti Smith sings goodbye to 'Aqua Teen Hunger Force'

Aug. 21--This weekend Adult Swim's long-running animated series starring an anthropomorphic shake, a box of French fries and a wad of meat will end. After 11 seasons, "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" will conclude the series. And to say so long, punk rock artist and poet Patti Smith has created the song "Aqua Teen Dream." Listen.

Created by Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis, this late night staple for people who-should-really-probably-be-in-bed-because-they-have-work-in-the-morning-but-aw-heck-what's-one-more-episode, has entertained the masses for 15 years. And now it is over.

On Aug. 23, the world will say goodbye to Master Shake, Frylock, Meatwad, the Mooninities Ignignokt and Err, Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past from the Future and, of course, Carl.

"Aqua Teen Hunger Force" taught the world many things, such as always avoid mysterious clown wigs, Foreigner accessories and mothmonstermen. And now we've learned one more thing, that Patti Smith is a fan.
