BRIEF: Blackhawks' Patrick Kane finalist for Hart Trophy as NHL MVP

May 08--Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane, who had a career-high 106 points this season, was named a finalist for the Hart Trophy, given to the NHL's most valuable player.

Kane is a finalist for the award along with Stars winger Jamie Benn and Penguins center Sidney Crosby.

Kane was the Art Ross Trophy winner as the league's leading scorer with 46 goals and 60 assists, the first American to capture that prize. His season was highlighted by 26-game point streak, which set the mark for the longest in Hawks history and the longest for an American-born player.

Kane would be the first Hawk to win the Hart Trophy since Stan Mikita for the 1967-68 season. Bobby Hull, Al Rollins and Max Bentley are the other Hawks to win it.
