Dec. 01--Two-time Olympian David Santee, a Maine South High School product who grew up in Park Ridge, has been elected to the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame.
Santee will be inducted in a ceremony at January's U.S. Championships in Greensboro, N.C. His election was announced Monday by U.S. Figure Skating.
He finished fourth in the 1980 Olympics, sixth in 1976 and was a World Championships silver medalist in 1981.
Santee also was a medalist at seven straight U.S. Championships and eight overall, the first at age 15 in 1973. He finished second four times and third four times.
Santee, 57, is the longtime skating director of the Park Ridge Park District and a certified technical specialist for domestic and international competitions.
Organizational innovator Anne Gerli and choreographer Ricky Harris join Santee in the Hall of Fame's class of 2015.
