BRIEF: Park Ridge man killed by farm implement in rural Illinois

Nov. 04--A Park Ridge man dressed in camouflage clothing was hit by a combine and killed Saturday as he walked along a rural road in Ogle County in northwestern Illinois.

The 65-year-old man was walking with traffic around 6:30 p.m. in the 10000 block of West Lightsville Road near Forreston when he was struck from behind by a combine, according to the Ogle County Sheriff's Department. A news release from the sheriff's office did not further identify the man.

The man was airlifted to Rockford Memorial Hospital, according to the sheriff's office, and he was pronounced dead around 8:30 p.m.
