BRIEF: Pac-Man themed restaurant set for Woodfield Mall

Dec. 17--A restaurant inspired by the video game Pac-Man is set to open at Schaumburg's Woodfield Mall in January.

The new 40,000 square-foot restaurant will be called Level 257, named for the level beyond the 256 levels of play in the iconic Pac-Man game.

The restaurant, set to open in a former warehouse space owned by Sears, is under development by video game supplier Namco Entertainment, which is affiliated with the makers of Pac-Man, the company said in a statement.

Namco also partners with movie theater company AMC Entertainment, supplying games at the movie chain's theater locations. The company operates two game rooms and entertainment areas at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn., just outside Minneapolis.

Namco said Pac-Man will celebrate its 35th anniversary in May at the new restaurant.
