BRIEF: Pac-12: Washington players to face Steve Sarkisian for first time since he left for USC

July 30--Washington players are more than a year removed from Steve Sarkisian's departure to become USC's coach.

The Huskies play against their former coach and several assistants Oct. 8 at the Coliseum.

"I don't really think about it all," senior linebacker Travis Feeney said. "When we get there, we'll talk about it."

Feeney said "it was hard at first" after Sarkisian left, but the transition to Chris Petersen was "easy."

Tailback Deontae Cooper, who suffered several knee injuries during his career, said Sarkisian's departure was difficult.

"Just because he was very supportive of me throughout my process," Cooper said. "You hate to see him go, but it was the best decision for him and his family, and you've got to respect that."
