BRIEF: Ozzie Guillen back as manager ... of the Normal CornBelters

Sept. 01--UPDATE: The Normal CornBelters website now displays a photo with the correct spelling of Ozzie Guillen's name.

Here's something out of left field: Ozzie Guillen will serve as a guest manager for the Normal CornBelters during Wednesday night's game. But the circumstances are anything but normal.

For one, a photo on the Belters' website promoting their special guest includes a mispelling of his name. "Ozzie Guilen to manage CornBelters Wednesday night!" the image reads, leaving an "l" out of his last name.

One would think that the manager of the 2005 World Series champion White Sox would have a little bit more name recognition.

In any event, Guillen will be a guest on the staff when the Frontier League team hosts the Evansville Otters at 6:35 p.m. at the Corn Crib in Normal.

Guillen's son, Ozney, plays right field for the Belters and wears 13, the number his father wore as an All-Star shortstop for the White Sox.

"I'm glad that I can help (Belters field manager) Brooks (Carey) and this great group of guys that I get along with so well," Guillen said in a team statement. "The only bad part is that I can't use the number 13 because I can't persuade the guy," referring to his son.
