April 22--Original Rainbow Cone is coming to Navy Pier next month, according to a post on the popular ice cream shop's Facebook page.
"Make sure you mark this on your calendar!" the post reads. The news was first reported by Time Out.
The ice cream shop will have a small kiosk on Navy Pier's South Dock, across from Riva Restaurant, Payal Patel, a Navy Pier spokeswoman, told the Tribune. The tentative opening date is May 7.
The hours will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the weekends, with hours extended through midnight at the height of summer, Patel says.
The 90-year-old Original Rainbow Cone is located in Beverly at 9233 S. Western Ave. Navy Pier turns 100 this year.
