BRIEF: Oprah auctioning audience chairs from Chicago talk show set

May 02--Oprah Winfrey is auctioning the chairs her studio audience sat in while she filmed her talk show in Chicago.

Single chairs mostly make up the 246 lots up for auction, but two- and three-seat configurations are also available. Bidding is set to begin 2 p.m. Thursday and close 5 p.m. May 12 via oprah.screenbid.com. A commemorative plaque is included on the seat.

The auction coincides with the fifth anniversary of the final episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show," which aired May 25, 2011. The show, which premiered in 1986, was taped at Harpo Studios in the West Loop.

Proceeds from the auction are slated to go to The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy Foundation, which supports Winfrey's private school in South Africa and the development of female leaders.
