BRIEF: One shot, seriously wounded in West Garfield Park

Jan. 12--A person has been shot in the West Garfield Park neighborhood Tuesday morning.

Somone shot the victim, a male of unknown age, in the abdomen about 10:10 a.m. in the 4400 block of West Monroe Street, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a spokeswoman for the Chicago police.

He was taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, according to Sedevic.
