BRIEF: Officials: No injuries during University of Chicago blaze

Sept. 20--No one was injured Sunday morning when a fire erupted in a building on the campus of the University of Chicago on the city's South Side.

At 9:43 a.m., firefighters were called to Harold Leonard Stuart Hall, 5835 S. Greenwood Ave., where a fire started in a second floor classroom and lounge area, said Chicago Fire Department Cmdr. Curtis Hudson.

No one was inside the building at the time and the building sustained "moderate damage" from mostly smoke and water, Hudson said.

The still and box alarm was canceled about 10:30 a.m., said Hudson, and no one was hurt.

Stuart Hall contains classrooms and offices.
