Jan. 06--Two men carjacked an off-duty Chicago police officer in the Wrightwood neighborhood early Wednesday morning, according to authorities.

The two men, one armed with a handgun, approached the officer about 7:35 a.m. in the 8000 block of South Fairfield Avenue and took his car, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police Department spokesman.

The police officer shot at the men, though no one was hit. Both men fled, one in the officer's car, and are not in custody.
