BRIEF: Oak Park Festival Theatre announces summer season, new managing director

March 03--Oak Park Festival Theatre has announced summer programming and the addition of a new managing director.

The 2016-17 season featuring two classic comedies about strong-minded women kicks off with George Bernard Shaw's "Pygmalion" (June 18 -- July 16), to be directed by Jason Gerace. Following is Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew" (July 23 -- Aug. 27). Adrianne Curry will helm the production.

Jhenai Mootz will manage the company, now in its 41st season, leading administrative and marketing initiatives. She has worked with the theater predominantly as an actor since 2006.

The season will be performed at Austin Gardens, 167 Forest Ave. in Oak Park.
