BRIEF: Oak Lawn woman, 19, killed by car was aspiring illustrator

Jan. 09--The Chicago Tribune Media Group's Southtown Star reports: An accomplished artist, Anna Marie Kreja received many awards for her illustrations in high school and won a scholarship that covered a semester at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, her mother said.

On Wednesday, Kreja, 19, of Oak Lawn, was coming home from her classes at the academy, crossing Cicero Avenue just north of 110th Street about 1:30 p.m., when a car driven by a 53-year-old woman struck her, police reported. She was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and died a short time later.
