BRIEF: NW Side convenience stores robbed at gunpoint

Dec. 24--Two Northwest Side convenience stores were robbed at gunpoint in the past week, Chicago police said Thursday morning.

At 10:20 p.m. Dec. 22, three males robbed a convenience store in the 5500 block of West Montrose Avenue in Jefferson Park, police said. They were described as black men 25 to 35 years old. Two were about 5-foot-10 and slim, wearing black jackets and blue jeans. The third was described as 5-foot-5 and slim, wearing a gray hoodie and gray sweatpants.

Just after midnight Thursday, three males robbed a store in the 3200 block of North Kimball Avenue in Avondale. They also were described as black men 25 to 35 years old. Two were about 5-foot-10, one in a black hoodie and one in a gray and pink hoodie. The other was described as 5-foot-5 wearing a black hoodie.
