Feb. 02--Notre Dame is undergoing some staff changes in the days leading up to national signing day.
Defensive backs coach Kerry Cooks is leaving the Irish to accept a position at Oklahoma while graduate assistant Kyle McCarthy is leaving his post, according to multiple reports.
Cooks served as the Irish's interim defensive coordinator for its Pinstripe Bowl after the 2013 season and helped recruit multiple members of the class Notre Dame is expected to sign Wednesday.
McCarthy continued his duties this season as he underwent treatment for testicular cancer but announced he was cancer free in November. Irish Illustrated and 247sports.com reported former Notre Dame linebacker Maurice Crum will fill McCarthy's position.
Notre Dame also announced the addition of Aaron Wellman as the assistant director of strength and conditioning.
