Feb. 25--SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- It was Notre Dame's worst first-half offensive performance of the season, but the Irish trail Syracuse by only five, 27-22, at halftime.
Notre Dame went nearly eight minutes without a field goal toward the end of the half until freshman Bonzie Colson had a breakaway dunk with 45 seconds remaining.
The Irish shot a horrid 5 of 24 in the half with Jerian Grant not registering an official shot attempt (he scored five points at the foul line).
Syracuse, however, wasn't much better, going only 11 of 32 shooting with center Rakeem Christmas in foul trouble with three fouls.
