BRIEF: Notre Dame Stadium renovation includes video board

Aug. 26--Beginning with the 2017 season, Notre Dame football players will be larger than life.

A video board at the south end of the stadium is scheduled to be completed by then, part of a $400 million "Campus Crossroads Project" that also includes in-stadium upgrades from wooden benches to more spacious vinyl-clad seating, restrooms, concession stands and the sound system.

The scoreboard on the north side of the stadium will be removed.

"We are confident the introduction of video will significantly improve enjoyment of every aspect of a game at Notre Dame Stadium, including the ability to support game-day introductions and presentations with video elements ... plus replays," Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick said in a statement.

Labs, classrooms, offices and a student life center also are part of the project, which includes a nine-story structure on the east side of the stadium.
