Nov. 16--Notre Dame's coaching staff hit the road hard nearly a month ago during the team's off week.
The fruits of their labor continued to pay off Monday when three-star running back Deon McIntosh became the 18th member, and second running back, of the Class of 2016 to orally commit to the Irish. Tony Jones Jr. is the other.
McIntosh, like many others, announced his decision on Twitter.
"Blessed to announce that I am officially committed to THE University of Notre Dame. #GoIrish," McIntosh tweeted.
The 5-foot-11, 175-pounder from Cardinal Gibbons in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is the fifth Florida high school player from his class to commit to the Irish. McIntosh also had offers from Duke, Miami, Tennessee and Wisconsin among others.
McIntosh visited South Bend, Ind., for the Notre Dame-USC game the weekend of Oct. 17.
He is the 80th-ranked running back nationally in the Class of 2016 by 247sports.com.
