March 22--Another day, another commitment from Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School for Notre Dame.
For the second day in row, the Irish received an oral pledge from a student-athlete from there, this time Kurt Hinish, a 6-foot-3, 283-pound defensive tackle. On Sunday, linebacker David Adams chose the Irish. His choice came a day after Texas quarterback Avery Davis did the same.
Hinish is the sixth player from the Class of 2017 to choose Notre Dame, which finished 10-3 last season and lost to Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl.
Hinish, who is rated a three-star prospect and the nation's 45th-best at his position by 247sports.com's composite rankings, chose the Irish over offers from Baylor, Penn State, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Tennessee among others.
