April 19--Ohio's top uncommitted offensive lineman, Liam Eichenberg, decided to go next door to Indiana next season when he announced Sunday on Twitter he has orally committed to Notre Dame.
The 6-foor-6, 290-pound junior from St. Ignatius in Cleveland is ranked a four-star recruit by 247sports.com and chose the Irish over Florida State, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and Penn State among others.
"I have officially decided to commit to the University of Notre Dame. #GoIrish," Eichenberg tweeted.
Eichenberg did not immediately return a text message left for him Sunday afternoon.
He will join the state of Ohio's top-ranked player in the Class 2016, offensive tackle Tommy Kraemer of Cincinnati's Elder High, at Notre Dame.
The Irish also have oral commitments from Charlotte (N.C.) Ardrey Kelly defensive end Julian Okwara, Nazareth athlete Julian Love, Loyola long-snapper John Shannon and IMG Academy (Fla.) running back Tony Jones.
