March 16--Notre Dame and Ball State will face each other for the first time in the programs' histories when the schools meet in 2018, Ball State announced Monday.
The game will take place in South Bend on Sept. 8.
"The opportunity to play one of the most storied programs in college football in a historic stadium will be very special for our student-athletes and everyone else associated with Ball State football," Cardinals coach Pete Lembo said.
The matchup with the Cardinals is the seventh game slotted in Notre Dame's schedule that season. Here are the rest of the slated opponents, five of which come from the ACC as part of the Irish's five-game per season agreement with the conference.
