BRIEF: Northwestern's Joey van Zegeren to miss rest of season with knee injury

March 02--Joey van Zegeren went down Monday during Northwestern's practice.

On Wednesday, the school said he's out.

The 6-foot-10, 235-pound center, a graduate transfer from Virginia Tech, suffered a knee injury that will cause him to miss the rest of this season.

A center from the Netherlands, van Zegeren started nine of the 25 games in which he appeared for the Wildcats, averaging 3.6 points and three rebounds per game.

The Wildcats (18-11, 6-10 Big Ten) play at Penn State at 8 p.m. Thursday and conclude their regular season at 1 p.m. Sunday at home against Nebraska.
