BRIEF: Northwestern freshman to compete in 'Jeopardy' college tournament

Feb. 01--Northwestern University freshman Amanda Rosner said she's reached her peak achievement with her appearance in the "Jeopardy" College Championship.

Rosner, who hails from Sandy Springs, Ga., faces Sam Deutsch, of the University of Southern California, and Michael Sieja, of Mississippi State University, in the quarterfinals in Wednesday's episode. The winner moves on to the semifinals to compete for the $100,000 prize.

If Rosner wins, she'll be the second recent "Jeopardy" tournament winner who lives in the Chicago area. Chicago trader Alex Jacob won the "Jeopardy" Tournament of Champions in November.

"Jeopardy" airs weekdays at 3:30 p.m. on WLS-Ch. 7.
