Dec. 15--The honors continue to roll in for Northern Illinois cornerback Shawun Lurry, who was named first-team All-America on Monday by the Football Writers Association of America.
The sophomore from West Palm Beach, Fla. -- who leads the nation with nine interceptions and 273 interception-return yards -- was named to the Walter Camp second team last week and the Associated Press third team Sunday.
Lurry was one of only two players from outside the Power Five conferences on the FWAA first team, and he's just the second NIU player to make the FWAA team, joining running back LeShon Johnson (1993).
