Jan. 15--Northern Illinois head football coach Rod Carey announced on Thursday the hiring of Ross Watson as an assistant coach to work with the Huskies defense.
Watson, a former cornerback at Division III powerhouse Mount Union, previously served on the defensive staffs at Nebraska, Florida Atlantic, Mount Union and Youngstown State.
"He brings great knowledge and experience, as well as a lot of energy and enthusiasm," Carey said in a statement. "I'm excited for him to work with our players and coaches, and to have him, his wife Sydney and their son Stanley as part of the Huskie football family."
