BRIEF: No serious injuries in school bus crash on West Side

March 03--Paramedics took nine people to hospitals with minor injuries after a school bus and three other vehicles were involved in a crash in the Humboldt Park neighborhood Thursday morning, according to authorities.

The crash happened about 9:30 a.m. at Chicago Avenue and Pulaski Road and arriving fire crews asked for an EMS Plan 1, which brings six ambulances to the scene.

Seven children were on the bus but it was not clear how many of them were injured, according to police.

Everyone injured was in good or fair condition, according to the Chicago Fire Department. Some of the children were taken to hospitals because they couldn't sign forms refusing treatment, said fire department spokesman Larry Langford.

Seven people were in good-to-fair condition and two were in fair-to-serious condition. They were taken to West Suburban Medical Center, Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center and Norwegian American Hospital.
