BRIEF: No injuries reported in small garbage fire at Trump Tower

Feb. 18--No injuries were reported when a small fire broke out in a trash compactor on the 50th floor of the Trump Tower along the Chicago River, officials said.

Crews were called around 9 a.m. to the high-rise at 401 N. Wabash Ave., officials said.

The fire apparently started in a trash compactor, sending light smoke through the floor, police said. It was extinguished within minutes by sprinklers.

An emergency medical services plan was called, which is a standard response for high-rise fires, but no injuries were reported.

Fire crews helped clean up standing water, according to the department.
