BRIEF: 'No disrespect to LeBron' but Stephen Curry wants to bring title to Akron

June 04--One way or another the NBA title is headed to Akron, Ohio.

"No disrespect to LeBron [James]," Golden State's Stephen Curry told ABC's Paula Faris, but he wants to be the one to bring it there.

Stephen Curry, like the Cavaliers star, was born in Akron, though the 2015 most valuable player hasn't received the same sort of celebration as James -- and he didn't even spurn its team in order to win NBA championships for another team.

That's probably because just months after his birth, Stephen Curry moved from the "Rubber City" to the "Queen City" of Charlotte, N.C., because of father Dell Curry's NBA career.

But his birth certificate still says Ohio, even if the only time he's spent there since has been on road trips and layovers.

The NBA Finals begin tonight at 6 p.m. with the Warriors hosting the Cavaliers in Oakland for Game 1 and Sunday's Game 2, before the series shifts to Cleveland for Game 3 on Tuesday and Game 4 on Thursday.

Cue up Skylar Grey's "I'm Coming Home," the montages are coming.
