BRIEF: No Chicago Food + Wine Festival this year; check back next year

March 07--Those food fans who enjoyed the inaugural Chicago Food + Wine Festival last August will have to wait until at least 2017 for an encore.

Though there has been no official statement, there is no Chicago festival on Food Wine Magazine's 2016 event lineup. Sources say "scheduling conflicts" forced organizers to put Chicago Food + Wine on hiatus for 2016 but that the event will return next year.

Last year's Chicago Food + Wine took place Aug. 29 and 30 in Lincoln Park and attracted such notable chefs as Rick Bayless, Graham Elliot, Tony Mantuano, Stephanie Izard, Kevin Hickey, Sarah Grueneberg and Meg Galus for two days of chef demonstrations and food and beverage tastings.
