June 10--Northern Illinois' Sept. 5 football season-opener against UNLV will be televised nationally on the CBS Sports Network.
The home contest against the Rebels from the Mountain West Conference will start at 6:30 p.m. (CST) at Huskie Stadium in DeKalb, the school announced Wednesday.
NIU, coming off an 11-3 season and a Mid-American Conference title under coach Rod Carey, will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of Huskie Stadium this season with a variety of initiatives.
The Huskies also will be featured throughout November in nationally-televised mid-week MAC contests, beginning Tuesday, Nov. 3, when ESPN2 televises the NIU-Toledo game.
CBS Sports Network and ESPN reached a new agreement with the MAC entering the 2015 season.
After hosting Murray State on Sept. 12, the Huskies are scheduled to play back-to-back road games in September at Ohio State and Boston College.
