BRIEF: Nick Lacasse consulting at Celeste, headed (eventually) for Half Acre

Feb. 25--Nick Lacasse, who left his executive chef job at mfk on Valentine's Day, revealed his short- and long-term plans.

Short term, already begun, is his consulting gig at Celeste (111 W. Hubbard St., 312-828-9000), where he's working to beef up the menu at the cocktail-focused River North spot. Down the road, however (timing uncertain), Lacasse will swap the cocktails for IPAs as chef of Half Acre Beer Co.'s upcoming restaurant and brewery on the North Side.

"They're building an enormous brewery and restaurant up north," said Lacasse, and added while the opening date remains hazy, "menu development is well underway."
