NFL invites St. Louis, San Diego and Oakland to make stadium presentations

Nov. 03--After staging town-hall meetings in St. Louis, San Diego and Oakland, the NFL is ready to hear from those cities about their specific plans to keep their teams.

Representatives of those three cities have been invited to give presentations at the league's committee meetings Nov. 11 in New York.

The Rams, Chargers and Raiders are all considering a relocation to the Los Angeles market.

Instead of having the home market proposals heard by the 32 owners, the league will have the cities give presentations to a joint gathering of the L.A., stadium and finance committees.

Representatives from St. Louis presented to owners in June, followed by a San Diego presentation at a special league meeting in August. This is the first time Oakland has been invited to present.

There will be no votes or other decisions at the committee meetings, the league said.

It's unlikely the league will have any votes on the L.A. situation at its annual December meetings, either. The current plan calls for a vote in January, although the NFL wants to have a single solution in mind to be voted upon, as opposed to having multiple owners enter the room and one or more to emerge as a loser in the balloting.
