BRIEF: New Lenox 7-Eleven robbed with 'long gun'

Jan. 09--Police are searching for a man who brandished a "long gun," like a rifle or a shotgun, while robbing a 7-Eleven in New Lenox, police said.

The robbery occurred about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of East U.S. Route 30, New Lenox police said.

A white man in his 50s wearing a Carhart jacket and a scarf over his face showed the sales clerk a long gun in his jacket and demanded money, Deputy Chief Robert Pawlisz said.

The clerk gave him a small sum of money and the robber left, Pawlisz said.

No one else was in the store and the clerk wasn't injured.
