Nov. 03--The New Colony, a storefront theater company known for its zany, ensemble-based work, will make The Den Theatre in Wicker Park its new home, the company announced Monday.
The young, two-story Den Theatre, in addition to producing its own seasons of work, has recently become home to companies like The Irish Theatre of Chicago and The Hypocrites.
The New Colony has signed a one-year contract with The Den, a representative for the company said, but they hope to continue beyond that.
The company's first show in residence at The Den will be a new musical, "Plastic Revolution," which begins performances Jan. 16.
