BRIEF: Near West Side bank robbed

March 31--Authorities are looking for a man wearing a red jacket who robbed a bank Tuesday morning on the Near West Side.

It happened at 9:48 a.m. at a PNC Bank branch at 2154 W. Madison St., according to Joan Hyde, a spokeswoman for the FBI.

The robber, a slim-built man about 6-feet tall who was wearing a red jacket, made a "threatening demand" for money but did not show a gun or weapon, Hyde said.

The robber, who has brown eyes, was wearing a black hat, black gloves, blue jeans and white shoes.

A bank surveillance photo appears to show the robber with a large, white gauze pad covering the left side of his face.

No injuries were reported, Hyde said.

Anyone with information should contact the FBI at (312) 421-6700.
