BRIEF: Napa High School soccer coach accused of sexting student

April 27--A soccer coach at Napa High School was arrested Sunday after allegedly sending lewd photos to one of his female players.

Julian Vargas, 29, was taken into custody after a 16-year-old Napa High School student contacted police to report that her junior varsity coach had been propositioning her for sex for several days, according to the Napa Police Department.

Vargas sent the girl a photograph of his penis via text message on Saturday, police said. The student told police she was worried Vargas was contacting other female students and asking for sex.

Napa police arrested Vargas in his St. Helena home in the 1500 block of Kennedy Court shortly after midnight Sunday.

Vargas was booked in the Napa County Jail on suspicion of contacting a minor with the intent to commit a felony and sending harmful matter with the intent to seduce a minor, according to police.
