BRIEF: Name of dead woman found with electrical cord around her neck released

April 28--Officials have released the identity of a woman who was found strangled earlier this month in the Logan Square neighborhood in hopes her family will come forward.

Bernadette Glomski, 58, was discovered dead with an electrical cord around her neck in the 2500 block of West Moffat Street about 5:45 p.m. April 15, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.

The chief medical examiner agreed to release her name in the hopes that Glomski's next of kin will step forward, said medical examiner's office spokesman Frank Shuftan.

An autopsy on Glomski, who lived on the same block, determined she died of asphyxia from ligature strangulation, according to the medical examiner's office.

Glomski's death was ruled a homicide.
