BRIEF: MWRD investigating 'discoloration' in Chicago River

April 09--The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District says it's trying to find the source of a brown substance that leaked into the Chicago River near Michigan Avenue Thursday morning.

"We are investigating the discoloration," said Allison Fore, a spokeswoman for the district. "We have sent out our investigators to investigate it."

The leak was spotted east of the Michigan Avenue bridge.
